The database built for
AI workflows

Your AI agents need somewhere to read and write structured data. Rune gives them a database they can talk to via MCP — and gives you a spreadsheet you can actually understand.

The problem

AI is getting wired into business operations fast. But when someone asks “where does all that data live?” — there's no good answer. Real databases require engineers. Spreadsheets break under machine writes. Airtable and Notion are built for humans, not agents.

The answer

Rune is the missing piece: a place where AI workflows can read and write structured data via MCP, and where the humans running those workflows can see exactly what's happening — in a view they actually understand.

Everything your AI workflows need

No setup, no SQL, no engineer required.

MCP native

Connect Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible agent. They can create tables, add fields, and read/write records — all through a standard protocol.

Spreadsheet you understand

See what your AI has been doing in a familiar table view. Inline editing, filtering, sorting — no SQL required.

Schema in plain English

Describe the field you need and it appears. Every schema change is logged in plain English so you always know what happened.

OAuth & access control

Every agent authenticates via OAuth. Grant workspace-level access with expiry dates for contractors. Revoke instantly.

Your own subdomain

Each organization gets a clean, professional URL. acme.tryrune.ai — feels like your own instance.

Isolated by design

Each workspace gets its own isolated database. Simple, fast, and continuously backed up so your data is always safe.

Up and running in 5 minutes

1

Create your organization

Pick a name, get your subdomain. You're live at your-org.tryrune.ai.

2

Create a workspace and describe your first table

Tell Rune what you're tracking in plain English. It builds the schema for you.

3

Connect your AI tool

Add your MCP endpoint to Claude Desktop or any MCP client. Authenticate via OAuth. Your agent can immediately read and write data.

4

Watch the data flow

Open the spreadsheet view and see every record your agent creates, updates, or modifies — in real time.

Built for teams running AI workflows

HR & People Ops

Track automated onboarding tasks, new hire checklists, and compliance workflows. Your AI agent writes the data, you see it in a table.

Revenue Operations

Monitor AI-powered outreach campaigns. See who was contacted, when, what was sent, and whether they replied — all in one view.

Operations & Automation

Give your automation workflows a structured home. Rune replaces the scattered spreadsheets and ephemeral AI context with a real system of record.

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard protocol that lets AI agents connect to external tools and data sources. Rune is an MCP server — any MCP-compatible AI tool (like Claude Desktop) can connect to it directly.

Do I need to know SQL or coding?

No. Rune is designed for non-technical operators. You can create tables, add fields, and manage data entirely through the UI or by describing what you need in plain English.

How does my AI agent connect?

Add your organization's MCP endpoint (e.g., https://your-org.tryrune.ai/mcp) to your AI tool's MCP settings. Authenticate via OAuth. That's it.

Is my data secure?

Each workspace has its own isolated database. Access is controlled via OAuth tokens with workspace-level scopes. All data is continuously backed up.

Can I give a contractor temporary access?

Yes. Grant workspace-level access with an expiry date. When the date passes, access is automatically revoked. You can also revoke access instantly at any time.
